Mombasa Tours and Excursion

1 Day Malindi and Gede Ruins Tour

Malindi was made famous after Vasco da Gama's stop over in 1498. In Malindi, you will see narrow alleys in the old part of town where the old houses have been lived in for centuries. One of the oldest East African churches still stands strong; the Church of St. Francis Xavier still stands strong across from Vasco da Gama's pillar, where he carved the Christian cross. Also extant is the Juma'a mosque, which was misused as a haven for slave trading until mid 1870's.

1 Day Wasini Island Tour

Enjoy the best goggling on the South Coast and relaxing day on a tropical land. After an early breakfast we drive to Shimoni “The place of the Cave” and take a dhow to Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park that offers some of the best goggling in Kenya. All goggling equipment is provided, but don't forget to bring your own swimsuit. Soft drinks are served on board.

At lunchtime we return to Wasini Island, which has a typical coast Muslim Village. Superb seafood is served in a traditionally styled restaurant and afterwards there is an optional walk around the village. We return to Shimoni jetty in the early evening for our transfer to your Hotel.

Half Day Mombasa City Tour

This tour covers Mombasa Island, which is the largest coastal gateway town-port of Kenya. This tour takes you into the most fascinating part of Mombasa – The old town that is a maze of narrow crooked lanes with many old Arab houses with their beautifully carved doors and over-hanging balconies.

Visit the old harbour, which is still used by dhows; built by the Portuguese in 1593. Fort Jesus, now a museum is a must for all visitors. Walk through the picturesque Bazaar, Market and Indian Temple; cross to the main land to see the Akamba carvers at work.

Tamarind Evening Dhow

You will be picked from your hotel by a bus and taken to the “Tamarind Jetty” where you will board an Arab Dhow moored opposite the old town of Mombasa.

During the sail, you will slowly pass the old town to Forte Jesus, dhow “Nawalikher” taking a sweeping turn at Forte Jesus and proceed up Tudor Creek to the accompaniment of the live band aboard, to it's mooring quiet secluded part of the Creek where a delicious Dinner prepared by the “Tamarind” Restaurant Chefs is served.

On the return journey, dance to the sound of popular tunes. On arrival at the Jetty, your transport will be waiting to take you to your hotel.

Mombasa by Night and Dinner in the Castle

You will be picked from your hotel at 5:30pm. The exciting itinerary begins with atmospheric Dhow Sundowner Cruise which offers an outstanding view of the Old Port from the water.

After docking our guide will lead you on walk through the historic Old Town to the 400 year old fortress of Fort Jesus. Built by the Portuguese as a stronghold at the entrance to the harbour, the ancient fort is a stunning example of 16th century military architecture that has survived centuries of attack and conquest. Here you will be welcomed by Portuguese and Arab fire-bearers before witnessing a dazzling sound and light show that is followed by a sumptuous dinner served alfresco within the ramparts of the Fort for a truly unforgettable dining experience. After this memorable experience of lifetime you will be taken back to your hotel.

1 Day Kutazama Tour

At Kutazama, you will marvel at the panoramic views of the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary, be amazed by the blazing colours of each and every sunset, revel in the sights and scents of the landscaped gardens and delight in the soft brush of a tropical butterfly...not to mention sleep deeply and soundly in the comfort of a large four-poster bed!

The essence of this day tour is sight seeing and relaxation - You will spend the day swimming and sunbathing by the Kutazama Lodge's swimming pool, marveling at the Mwaluganje elephant sanctuary, enjoying the superb panoramic views of the Shimba Hills and the surrounding meandering river valleys, and if you are lucky - you may catch a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro peaks on a clear day.

Animal lovers will enjoy game viewing, be it watching the grand elephants of the Mwalughanje Sanctuary or getting a glimpse of primates around the area. Abundant bird life in the area along with vast number of butterflies promises to be another fun-filled event.

You will then enjoy a memorable sundowner taking in the beauty of nature

Kutazama lodge is located in the Shimba Hills, 30 minutes from Diani Beach, on an escarpment overlooking the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary and has spectacular views over uninhabited plains and forests, stretching as far as Tanzania and Mount Kilimanjaro
